Belgian food prices stabilize

After several years of price increases, Belgian food prices have stabilized. Brand products dropped 2.5 % on average, but premium brands went up 4 %.

In total, Test-Aankoop's food index dropped 0.38 % last year, mainly because of cheaper brand and private labels. The price of fish sticks, olive oil and pasta dropped at least 10 %, while the premium brand olive oil rose the most (+38.26 %).
