Swedish furniture chain Ikea wants to launch a web shop and a smaller store concept in Belgium, which will mainly serve as pick-up locations for online orders. Ikea announced these measures in the wake of good sales reports in its fiscal year 2016.

Like-for-like turnover for Belgian lingerie manufacturer Van de Velde has grown 2.6 % over the past 6 months. Only its wholesale division grew, because its retail turnover dropped on the back of several store closures.

Over to the next 5 to 7 years, supermarket chain Lidl will invest about 500 million euro into the Belgian market, which should lead to 50 new stores and about 2,000 new jobs.
Dutch fashion brand Yaya is working on its international expansion, with a first Belgian store as an example of its drive. Stores in Luxembourg, France and Germany are to follow.
Leapp, which sells refurbished Apple products, aims to open another 4 stores in the current quarter and a whole range of additional stores later this year. This will continue the offline expansion at a rapid pace for a company that started as an online retailer.
