Meat consumption continues to drop

Belgian meat consumption keeps dropping to 86.46 kilo per person in 2013. In 2005, the average was 99.87 kilo, so it has been a steady drop ever since.

Pork remains the biggest part of a Belgian's meat consumption, with 43.24 kilo per person on a yearly basis. Second place is for beef and veal, averaging 15.39 kilo.
