The talks between Delhaize staff and management have started once more, but according to the labour unions, Delhaize management refused to budge on its demands.
"Not willing to make an effort"
"We have discussed the situation of the 14 stores that have to shut down and have proposed alternatives, but we did not notice any willingness to make an effort on the board's part", the labour unions said.
The current plans show that the workers can stay on, but will have to cut their wages, apparently some 1,400 euro per year. A new round table is scheduled for 15 October.
