Xbox 360 generates 1 million dollars in pizza sales

Pizza Hut has managed to sell more than 1 million dollars’ worth of pizzas through Xbox 360. The pizza manufacturer had created an app to sell its products through the console, but so far that service is only available in the US.

"Source of growth"

The Pizza Hut app has only been around for some 4 months on Xbox 360 and has already breached the million dollar milestone (roughly 750,000 euro): “It's been a source of unbelievable growth for us”, as director of public relations Dough Terfehr told Polygon. “When you talk about a sweet spot for the pizza category it's definitely gamers and gaming.”

Pizza Hut is unwilling to divulge whether it will create a similar app for other consoles, like those made by Nintendo and Sony. The chain will however improve its iOS and Android apps. One of its main competitors, Domino’s Pizza, also aims to be available at often original places and has therefore put up a collaboration with Ford, to enable pizza orders in certain car models.
