Softdrink manufacturer Coca-Cola will relaunch Surge after it had been taken off the market more than a decade ago. It will only be available on though.

Surge was originally launched as a Coca-Cola-backed competitor for Pepsi's popular Mountain Dew. The company decided to pull the Surge plug 12 years ago, but it will temporarily relaunch it on The reason for its return? A Facebook fan page of 128,000 people lobbied for a long time to get the drink back.


It is the first time that Coca-Cola has launched a product that is only available online. "This will be a great learning experience for us and a refreshing opportunity for fans", Wendy Clark said. She is Coca-Cola's president of North America Sparkling & Strategic Marketing.
