Supergroup benefits from excellent Christmas sales

Supergroup's fall sales were rather disappointing because of the warm weather, but SuperDry's parent company has had an excellent Christmas sales period.

On target to reach its goals

In the first half of its fiscal year, SuperGroup's like-for-like turnover dropped 4.2 % while its profit even dropped 30 % in that same period.

Its third quarter performance, leading up to 10 January 2015, was positive once more. Its like-for-like turnover grew 12.4 % and its total retail turnover grew 17.8 %. SuperGroup's sales received a welcome boost in its third quarter thanks to the cold weather and targeted promotions.

"Whilst there are still 15 weeks of trading remaining in the current financial year, this performance underpins confidence in the group's expected profit outcome for the full year of 60-65 million pounds", SuperGroup said in a statement. Last year, SuperGroup managed an EBITDA 62 million pound (80 million euro) profit.
