Dutch electronics group Philips has launched a modernized logo and a new slogan. Both are the next step in Philips’ transformation, as the company has undergone a thorough restructuring these past few years.

‘Innovation & You’ is Philips’ new slogan and it should signal the start of a new goal, namely the doubling of its reach by 2025. That means that, by then, Philips should service 3 billion people with its products.
The new logo is also a blast to the past, as it is the old familiar logo, with the stars, in a fresh design. The logo, that has been around since 1927, had to take a backseat the past few years, but it will now prominently feature on all products.
Continued investment in innovation
The restructuring that Philips has started several years ago is still ongoing, meaning that by 2015, 9,000 jobs will be lost worldwide. The move should free Philips to bring new products to new markets.
Nevertheless, Philips is continuing to invest in innovation, as Frans van Houten emphasized when revealing the logo and slogan. “Innovation is in our DNA. That is why we invest 1.8 billion euro in research and development every single year. Innovation is not only about new products, but also new business models to further assist the consumer.”
