Garden centre Intratuin will no longer sell glyphosate-based products as it believes there are plenty more alternatives.
Intratuin is now ahead of the European laws, as the Dutch government is still considering a ban from the end of 2015.
The 39 remaining Belgian toy stores of Bart Smit have been acquired by Maxi Toys, and will undergo a re-branding to the Maxi Toys brand. They are largely located in areas where Maxi Toys is not yet active.

Metro Group CEO Olaf Koch has admitted that his company is looking at all possible solutions for his ailing Belgian Makro branch, including selling it altogether.
Intertoys, the Netherlands' biggest toy store chain, has filed for bankruptcy, after last week's suspension of payments was unable to solve the company's problems. The sale of the Belgian stores, who are not in this bankruptcy, is in an “advanced stage”.
