Credit card payments will not reach retailers faster

Credit card payments will not reach retailers faster

Credit card payments will not reach retailers' bank accounts faster on weekends or holidays at the moment. A faster solution is not possible, according to Dijsselbloem.

Everything has to go through the European Central Bank, but that bank is closed for 110 days of the year, which results in slower transactions. Because other countries have not complained about the slower payments, things won't change anytime soon.
