Ahold USA buys local American supermarket

Retail giant Ahold has bought a local Rhode Island supermarket, Eastside Marketplace. It is geared toward the higher echelons of the market and specializes in biological and fresh products. It will keep its own name despite the purchase.

Coolblue turnover up 55 % (again)

Dutch web shop Coolblue has managed a 55 % turnover growth in the first half of 2014, which prompted founder Pieter Zwart to increase the full-year turnover forecast from 300 to 350 million euro.
